From the Hospital Room....

Well, it's nearly midnight, and I'm here in my Mom's hospital room. She had surgery 2 days ago, and they removed the tumor. It will take a week or two to get all the pathology reports back to see if it has spread, and to determine if chemo is on the docket. She's been given a mix of painkillers and sedatives that reacted badly, and has been asleep or talking incoherently most of the day.

This time with my Mom and the rest of the family is giving me plenty of time to think about the importance of family, and how easy it is to take important things (like your health) for granted. Thanksgiving has been difficult for my family the last two years - last year we lost my beloved grandmother on Thanksgiving Day, and this year Mom's in the hospital fighting cancer at Thanksgiving. But still, the fact that my family is pulling together around my Mom, and we're closer than usual is giving me a thankful spirit, and the belief that something good always comes out of the bad times.

Still wanting to get up pics of my workshop and my antique booths, but as you can see, there are more important things going on in my life at present. I hope you'll keep checking back.
